Integrating Basic Sciences, Medicine and Acupuncture:
Dr. Barbara Siminovich-Blok received her degree in Naturopathic Medicine and was the recipient of the Douglas Clinical Excellence Award in 2009. She possesses two Master degrees: one in Biochemistry (2005) and one in Biotechnology (2000) . Her Bachelor Degree is in Chemical Engineering. In 2010, she graduated Summa Cum Laude with an MS in Acupuncture from the University Of Bridgeport (UB) Acupuncture Institute. She completed her medical residency at the Yale Prevention Research Center at Griffin Hospital (Derby, CT), one of the only hospital based residency for naturopathic Doctors.
She has presented research at several Naturopathic conferences and seminars during 2010-2012; Biochemistry conferences in Mexico, a poster at the 2004 Biophysics Symposium, Faculty Talks and Grand Rounds at UB and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ (UMDNJ). She has a long-standing teaching career in the sciences, having taught at the Universidad Iberoamericana (Mexico), Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), Rutgers University, UMDNJ, and UB.
She founded Equilibrium LLC. to establish her private practice in New York. She is a part time director of a moderate complexity laboratory in Connecticut and sees patients there as well.
Dr Siminovich-Blok was born in Argentina and is fluent in several languages. She is an active practicioner of Martial Arts including Qi Gung, Hapkido, and Kuhapdo. Some of her professional interests and specialties include integrative medicine, pain management, sports medicine, biochemical research and Traditional Chinese Medicine. She is board certified and licensed in CT and NY.
